For today’s Quote of the Day, I’d like to share a quote from Dr. Joe Dispenza that pushes back against today’s rampant secular Scientism. Scientism is when people turn to science with a religious or superstitious devotion.
“Science is the contemporary language of mysticism… we should never wait for science give us permission to do the uncommon; if we do, then we are turning science into another religion.”

I consider myself a scientific mystic. In my worldview there’s room for both science and spirituality to overlap and coexist. For me, it is science itself that gives credence to this way of observing the world.
In 1927, the double slit experiment proved that consciousness gave rise to the universe; not the other way around. The experiment proved that all matter required a conscious observer to exist.
In my view, God is source consciousness. The pre-existent, conscious agent that observed/oversaw the creation of the universe.
In many scientific circles today, science is presented in a secular fashion that seeks to diminish metaphysical/supernatural phenomenon. In my opinion, this is a tragic mistake. The bedrock of science is the sientific method that is great at helping helping make accurate observations of the physical world.
Spirituality is great at stretching scientific boundaries and helping scientists find new and exciting places to look.
Rather than being at odds, it’s possible for science and spirituality to work in concert to advance humanities understanding of the world. To this, I say, “long live the scientific mystic!”
