“Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you, as a result of what happens to you.”— Dr. Gabor Maté
Emotions are energy in motion. Trauma is emotion stored in our nervous system at the heart-brain level.
It’s important in our healing process to remember that attempting to suppress our trauma is toxic to our bodies. Trauma shouldn’t be discounted overlooked, or ignored.
Trauma must worked THROUGH. To create pathways for the toxic emotions associated with our trauma to move through and leave our nervous system.
The healing process requires self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and wisdom (applied knowledge).
