For today’s Quote of the Day, let’s look at the most important element in “having” a great day.
“Great days are made, not had.”
-Daniel Fortune
The most important element in having a great day is approaching each day with the mindset/outlook that great days aren’t passively “had,” but rather, are actively MADE.
In it’s underbelly, the recipe for a great day is approaching life offensively. It requires being pro-active. Life isn’t happening TO you, it’s happening THROUGH you.
This brand of taking radical ownership for the affairs and outcomes of your life is both liberating and challenging. For many of us, outsourcing responsibility and blame for the substance of our lives is welcomed and commonplace.
But, it shouldn’t be.
We must remind and encourage ourselves to stop passively making a “living” and start actively designing our lives. It starts with recognizing the power of each moment and exploiting its potential.
